Paul Galea – Managing Director, CCA
As a Senior Consultant at McCalls', Paul is responsible for business development, client liaison and community consultation project management. He has years of people management, service delivery and training experience. He has a special interest in road and community safety, designing and delivering site specific fleet and driver education programs.
Paul's strengths are project management, interpersonal relations and team building. He is an experienced team leader with a proven track record leading teams to achieve targets. Currently, he is undertaking a strategic role within the Eastern Pipeline Alliance project where he holds the position of Stakeholder and Community Relations Manager. As part of this role, Paul oversees stakeholder communication to ensure the community is aware of and understands the project and its benefits.
One of his key goals is to minimise construction disruption to local residents, business and community facilities during the construction process through timely and effective consultation.
Paul is a member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2), the Australasian College of Road Safety and the Construction Safety Managers and Officers Association.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communications and Community Studies
- Graduate Diploma in Communications Practice
- Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high quality support and service to clients in accordance with Project Specifications, with specific responsibility for Stakeholder and Community Relations
- Provide communications and issues management advice to AM
- Liaise with Corporate Communication Team in relation to media issues, crisis management and legacy opportunities
- Identify local area needs and develop, plan and implement communication response strategies
- Liaise directly with stakeholders, community and services deliverers
- Prepare all related weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly reports
- Manage the communications budget allocation
- Act as a lead advocate for the project with stakeholders
- Provide guidance and counsel to communications team
- Identify potential problems and initiate corrective actions
- Ensure that all applicable Safety Codes, Requirements and Standards as required by the Project Safety Plan are complied with
- Ensure that all requirements of the Project Environmental Management Plan are complied
- Other duties as directed.
